Sidewalk Sales Are Back

Just in time for the season change, sidewalk sales are back! From the main strip of Rehoboth Avenue, to the leading buzzle of route one outlets, these discounts are endless.

Local businesses and national brands will come together to make your shopping experience well worth it. The annual Fall Sidewalk sale is one of the most attended events of the season and did we forget to mention its TAX FREE? Yep, that is correct! So if you’re local or just visiting for the day, come grab a bite to eat hit up the boardwalk and take advantage of these special offers.

The sale begins Friday October 6th and ends Sunday October 8th, running 9am to 9pm daily. Whether you are looking for household décor, a new wardrobe or gifts for the upcoming holidays the sidewalk sale has a taste of it all.

Rehoboth Beach's 25th Annual Chocolate Festival

For all the chocoholics out there you will not want to miss this event. Saturday, March 7, the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center will be hosting the 25th Annual Chocolate Festival. Mouth watering chocolate treats created by professional area chefs will have you excited for weeks! 

New this year is an exclusive VIP tasting reception. Limited to just 200 tickets, participants will receive private admission from 11:00am to 1:00pm along with 25 chocolate tastes for the price of $20. 

For general admission, doors will be open from 1:30–4:30pm. Participants receive ten chocolates for $10. Children 12 and under receive five chocolates for $5. All ticket sales benefit Rehoboth Beach Main Street and The Friends of the Rehoboth Beach Library.

Gumbo at the Shore

Mardi Gras

Get your taste of Mardi Gras and come celebrate the “Gumbo Crawl” with Rehoboth Beach Main Street next Sunday, February 15, from 2-5pm. For just $5 you’ll get to purchase a voting ballot and get your pick of 12 participating restaurants eager to show off their recipes. 

After all the gumbo you can eat, from at least five different gumbo samples, you will vote on your favorite recipe. The winner will be announced on Fat Tuesday, February 17, at 8pm, and crowned the 2015 Gumbo Crawl Winner! 

Participating restaurants include The Pond Bar & Grill, Purple Parrott, Rigby’s, Mixx, Café Azafran, Fins, Dos Locos, Lula Brazil, Seafood Shack, Mariachi, Hobo's, and Papa Grande’s. Purchase your tickets in advance, or the day of, at participating restaurants. Don’t miss this chance to get your Louisiana fix with some of the best seafood at the shore.

Polar Plunge

Your first steps into the ocean this year have never been so cold! The Polar Bear Plunge invites all ages to participate and be bold. First timers and yearly regulars are encouraged to enroll, as the plunge seeks thousands to reach their goal. 

Come support athletes of Special Olympics Delaware by jumping into the frigid sea! Last year, 3,252 participants reached $725,000. Over the years, the Polar Bear Plunge has raised a total of 7.5 million dollars for Special Olympics Delaware. 

That’s not all! This fun-filled weekend includes several other family activities to gear up for the plunge. These include a free chili contest at local restaurants all weekend long, a 5K walk/run on Saturday, and a pooch parade/plunge for all those dogs eager to get their paws wet. 

Register now, as this event will take place in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, January 30 thru February 1. The actual plunge itself will take place at 1pm on Sunday, February 1.
