Take the Plunge 2018!

Dare yourself this 2018 with an invigorating challenge to raise money for Special Olympics Delaware! Hit the beach on February 4th at 1 pm for a cold dip. Joined by hundreds of other participating plungers you’ll feel the rush of the freezing cold Atlantic and satisfaction of making a difference together.

Not only will you be accountable for a fun-filled exhilarating leap into the ocean, but your participation will raise funds for those with disabilities who suffer countless barriers throughout life. The Special Olympics movement helps to inspire those with disabilities and give them the opportunities to learn and compete athletically like everyone else. It brings together a community of people dedicated to helping others feel empowered and expanding their resources.

Not loving the idea of jumping into the freezing cold water, come on by to watch all of the action and support those braving it out. Other activities will include a chili contest, ice sculpting demonstrations and other fun winter activities for the community.

Stay Active

Cold weather, shorter days and the lure of cuddling up on the sofa can really make staying active a challenge during the winter. If you find yourself spending most of your free time watching TV shows and movies, you might be excited to know that there are plenty of fun things to do at the beach that don’t involve “the beach”.

Now, here is the perfect opportunity to stay healthy and active this fall, winter and spring. Indoor tennis at Dave Marshall Tennis or Sea Colony Tennis. Both offer indoor tennis facilities with experienced tennis pros, to help enhance the experience and your game. Enjoy clinics, camps, and fun for all levels - all year long. Bring the family or come alone, you’ll be sure to have a great time.

Not into tennis? How about yoga at the beach, walks on the boardwalk, state park nature trails or a list of outdoor and indoor activities year round. Experience beautiful bike rides through the 3.5 mile paved state park loop. Explore each of the nature parks by walking along the shore and weaving around natural ponds. Wherever you go you’ll find yourself surrounded by a wealth of beauty and the refreshing smell of the ocean.

Stay active and healthy this season. Schedule your beach getaway today.
