Golf

Did you know that Sussex County, Delaware boasts some of the finest golf courses in the Mid-Atlantic region? Now that the weather is finally warming up it's the perfect time to hit the links. Whether you are a novice or a pro, you will find numerous options to suit your skill level. Play 9-holes, 18-holes, or just bang a few balls around on the driving range - the choice is yours.

Magnificent bay views, natural dunes, serene ponds, winding fairways and scenic wetlands await you. Several of the clubs have top-notch restaurants with picturesque course views, so you can stick around and visit the "19th Hole" for dining and drinks after a full day of friendly competition with your buddies.

So dust off those clubs and break out your best golf gear. Why not plan a long weekend and hit multiple courses while you are here. We promise you will not be disappointed - and it may even become an annual tradition!

A Little Italian Charm in the Heart of Rehoboth Beach: Lupo di Mare

Lupo di Mare Restaurant

Lupo di Mare may translate to "Wolf of the Sea" - a metaphor for a grizzled old sailor - but make no mistake, the charming restaurant in no way embodies its namesake. It's equal parts light, airy and cozy. Manager Mike Dickinson gives us the scoop on some amazing off-season dinner specials and fills us in on wine imported exclusively to the restaurant from Conti di San Bonifacio, an award winning Tuscan Vineyard.

Dinner specials run Sunday through Thursday with a different seafood featured monthly. April is Catfish Month featuring local blue catfish served piccata-style with spinach and angel hair pasta. Come in on Thursday for half-priced bottles of wine and pair your meal with one of the four varieties from Conti di San Bonifacio. For red lovers choose from Sangiovese, Syrah or a Cabernet Franc blend; if sparkling white is your thing, try the Prosecco. All produce is sourced locally and all desserts are created in-house. And if you are just looking to unwind with a glass of vino and a small bite, belly up to the quaint corner bar for happy hour which runs daily from 5-7pm.

But don't delay your visit to Lupo di Mare - these off-season specials end May 18. The restaurant is open daily at 5pm.

Easter in Rehoboth Beach

For many of you it's spring break and you made the wise decision to take your week off in Rehoboth Beach! Since the week ends with Easter Sunday, why not hit the town to do some tax-free holiday shopping.

Stroll down Rehoboth Avenue and you will find a number of charming shops where you can pick up the perfect Easter outfit. The possibilities are endless - from formal at Cleo's Boutique to comfy at Cotton Club to vintage cool at Downtown Cowgirl to casual beach chic at South Moon Under - you'll have no trouble finding your perfect holiday style. For the guys, how about a new suit from Carlton's or perhaps a tropical ensemble from Loungin' Lizzard. Get everything you need for the kids at The Lilypad Children’s Boutique. The weatherman says it will be sunny, so grab a pair of shades from The Sunglass Company or E.C. Shades. And top it all off with a sassy new beach hat from Odysea or Sunsations.

Stock up on tasty treats for the kiddos' Easter baskets. The Candy Kitchen, Snyder's and Kilwin's have mouth-watering goodies to satisfy every sweet tooth. Your baskets will runneth over with taffy, fudge, gummies, and chocolate candies!

On Saturday, April 19, visit the Easter Bunny and participate in an Easter Egg Hunt in nearby Lewes from 10am to 12pm. Good Friday and Easter Sunday services will be held at all area churches, so no matter what denomination you are, you can find the right place of worship.

Have a safe and happy Easter and thanks for spending your holiday with us in Rehoboth Beach!
