Labor Day Doesn’t Mean Summer is Over Yet

Labor Day

Yeah, sure, Labor Day typically marks the “official” end to the summer season, but locals know that September is the BEST month at the beach. Just because the kiddos are back to school, it doesn’t mean you can’t plan a weekend visit to Rehoboth Beach. Crowds are smaller and weather is perfect for outdoor activities - just remember to pack your jacket for slightly cooler evenings.

Parking permits are no longer required after Labor Day weekend and parking meters come down mid-month, so parking in town is a breeze. All your favorite shops and restaurants are still open and the Jolly Trolley continues to run on weekends so you can easily buzz around town or visit neighboring Dewey Beach to check out the music festivals held throughout the month.

Additionally, the beach remains guarded until the third weekend of September, so you can be assured that you and your family can "beach" safely.

In the meantime, for those of you that are lucky enough to be on vacation this last week of August, be sure to drop by The Rehoboth Beach Bandstand on Thursday, August 28 at dusk (8:15 – 8:30 pm) to watch Frozen, the final movie of the 2014 Cinema By the Surf summer outdoor film series. The event is free and seats are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Rehoboth Restaurant Week

CALLING ALL FOODIES! The 9th Annual Rehoboth Restaurant Week is taking place from Sunday, June, 1 through Friday, June 6. Taste why Rehoboth has become one of the premier culinary destinations in the region. With more than 25 downtown restaurants participating - including our own on-site restaurant Lupo di Mare - you are guaranteed to find a fabulous meal to satisfy your palate and your wallet.

Restaurant Week features three-course prix-fixe dinners at outstanding prices - $25, $35 or $45. Some restaurants will also offer $15 lunch deals. Tap into your inner foodie and get a taste of the good life each night. Visit your old favorites or find new ones. Go ahead, be adventurous and try a new cuisine or sample a creative chef’s special.

Since the crowds thin a bit after Memorial Day Weekend the first week of June is the perfect time of the season for Restaurant Week - the calm before the storm - so you won’t have to fight the masses and succumb to long wait times.

Rehoboth Restaurant Week is presented by Rehoboth Beach Main Street. Click here for a list of participating restaurants.

Make Mother's Day Memories in Rehoboth Beach

Mothers Day in Rehoboth

WE LOVE MOMS! What better way to show Mom the love than by taking her for a beach getaway. Mother’s Day weekend is a great time here in Rehoboth Beach. It’s still early enough in the season that the crowds are minimal and you can find great deals on just about anything. Not to mention the weather is nice enough to stroll the boardwalk, buzz around town, go for a bike ride, or even dip your toes in the ocean.

You already know that the dining possibilities in Rehoboth are endless. There is a cuisine and price point to suit everyone. Lavish Mom with an extravagant dinner, take her for a more casual lunch date, or just keep it laid back with a slice and a cold one.

If she likes to shop, you'll have no trouble finding something as beautiful and special as she is. A new outfit, a gorgeous bauble, a stellar bottle of wine, a sweet treat, a unique piece of art - we can’t stress it enough - the shopping in town is phenomenal.

Or perhaps treat her to a day of pampering at one of the many day spas in the area. What gal can say no to a relaxing day filled with massages, mani/pedis and a soothing facial?

But no matter what you get her, there really is no better gift than just spending time with Mom. There is so much to see and do, and priceless memories are waiting to be made right here in Rehoboth Beach.

Stay with us for a two-night Mother’s Day weekend special. Click here for full details.
