Stay Active

Whether you’re here to stay or here for a day, don’t miss the charm of Rehoboth Beach around the holidays. As the season quiets down, our quaint little town gears up for Christmas with family fun activities all month long!

This is the time of year to take an evening stroll down Rehoboth Avenue appreciating the decorative lights and beautiful embellishments displayed by business owners and the town.

Proceeding the day after Thanksgiving, Rehoboth Beach kicks off the fun with it’s annual holiday tree lighting and sing-a-long - starting at 6:30pm. This hometown tradition brings families and friends together welcoming the holiday spirit. Bundled in blankets and sipping on hot chocolate, sing your favorite Christmas carols as the tree becomes lit.

Also, don’t miss Santa’s House on the Boardwalk. Starting the same day as the tree lighting. Santa’s house will be open each weekend leading up to Christmas. Bring the family and tell Santa your Christmas wish list. What more could bring a smile to a child’s face than getting to see the one and only Santa Claus! Click here for visiting hours. Santa’s house will be on the Rehoboth Boardwalk at the end of Rehoboth Avenue. There is no charge to visit; donations are appreciated.

If that’s not enough, extend your stay for the Hometown Christmas Parade Tuesday night December 2nd from 6:30 to 8:00pm. Decorative parade floats and community members from all over will be riding through the parade. All parade participants and watchers are invited to Convention Hall after the parade for refreshments and a visit from Santa.

Bring your friends, bring your family, and have a very Merry Christmas.

Independence Day

Break out the red, white and blue, baby, because it’s here - the ‘big daddy’ of summer holidays - Independence Day! When it comes to this sparkling and illustrious occasion, Rehoboth Beach is no slouch and we guarantee you will have a most memorable experience. Here is the scoop regarding the holiday happenings taking place in town on the BIG night!

On Friday, July 4 at approximately 9:15 p.m, a spectacular fireworks extravaganza, hosted by Rehoboth Beach Main Street (RBMS), will be launched from the beach. This dazzling display will be visible up and down the boardwalk and shoreline so grab your blanket or beach towel and come down a little early to snatch up a great spot. Catch a live concert with the Funsters, who will perform at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand before and after the fireworks. For easy transportation in and out of town, the Jolly Trolley and DART buses will run from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.

The Annual Main Street Fireworks Display is funded entirely through donations from Rehoboth Beach visitors, citizens and area businesses. To be a part of this wonderful community event please visit the RBMS website to donate and help make this year’s show the biggest ever!

The rain date is Saturday, July 5. The decision to reschedule will be made late Friday afternoon and updated information will be posted on the RBMS website.

Have a safe and enjoyable holiday!
