As many of you make plans to head to the beach this holiday, you’ll want to be aware of all the fun events going on. First and foremost, if you’re a fan of the Easter egg hunt, we’ve got this Easter event covered. There will be THREE area Easter egg hunts:

  • Alley-Oop Egg Scoop: Saturday, April 4. New Orleans Street in Dewey Beach. Children will be able to find Easter eggs from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. ages 5 and under: 10:00 a.m.; ages 6-8: 10:45 a.m.; ages 9-11: 11:30 a.m.
  • Cultured Pearl Egg Hunt: Saturday, April 4. The fun starts at 11:00 a.m. on the main level of the Shops at The Pearl on 4th St. & Rehoboth Ave. 1,000 Easter eggs will be hidden for all children under 12. The eggs will be hidden throughout the entire mall with fun prizes inside the eggs.
  • Lewes Canalfront Park Easter Egg Hunt: Friday April 3. Starting at 11:00 a.m. the hunt will kick off the Kite Festival. Children will be able to have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny, enjoy face painting, balloon artists, and other springtime surprises.

In addition to the abundant egg hunts, Cape Henlopen State Park will hold their 47th Annual Great Delaware Kite Festival from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 3. This daylong event hosts competitions for all ages. Children, adults, and teens will all be placed in categories to compete. Spring Break Shopping and All Things Easter

For many of you it's spring break and you made the wise decision to take your week off in Rehoboth Beach! Since the week ends with Easter Sunday, why not hit the town to do some tax-free holiday shopping.

Stroll down Rehoboth Avenue and you will find a number of charming shops where you can pick up the perfect Easter outfit. The possibilities are endless - from formal at Cleo's Boutique to comfy at Cotton Club to vintage cool at Downtown Cowgirl to casual beach chic at South Moon Under - you'll have no trouble finding your perfect holiday style. For the guys, how about a new suit from Carlton's or perhaps a tropical ensemble from Loungin' Lizzard. Get everything you need for the kids at The Lilypad Children’s Boutique. The weatherman says it will be sunny, so grab a pair of shades from The Sunglass Company or E.C. Shades. And top it all off with a sassy new beach hat from Odysea or Sunsations.

Stock up on tasty treats for the kiddos' Easter baskets. The Candy Kitchen, Snyder's and Kilwin's have mouth-watering goodies to satisfy every sweet tooth. Your baskets will runneth over with taffy, fudge, gummies, and chocolate candies!

On Saturday, April 19, visit the Easter Bunny and participate in an Easter Egg Hunt in nearby Lewes from 10am to 12pm. Good Friday and Easter Sunday services will be held at all area churches, so no matter what denomination you are, you can find the right place of worship.

Have a safe and happy Easter and thanks for spending your holiday with us in Rehoboth Beach!
