Independence Day

Break out the red, white and blue, baby, because it’s here - the ‘big daddy’ of summer holidays - Independence Day! When it comes to this sparkling and illustrious occasion, Rehoboth Beach is no slouch and we guarantee you will have a most memorable experience. Here is the scoop regarding the holiday happenings taking place in town on the BIG night!

On Friday, July 4 at approximately 9:15 p.m, a spectacular fireworks extravaganza, hosted by Rehoboth Beach Main Street (RBMS), will be launched from the beach. This dazzling display will be visible up and down the boardwalk and shoreline so grab your blanket or beach towel and come down a little early to snatch up a great spot. Catch a live concert with the Funsters, who will perform at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand before and after the fireworks. For easy transportation in and out of town, the Jolly Trolley and DART buses will run from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.

The Annual Main Street Fireworks Display is funded entirely through donations from Rehoboth Beach visitors, citizens and area businesses. To be a part of this wonderful community event please visit the RBMS website to donate and help make this year’s show the biggest ever!

The rain date is Saturday, July 5. The decision to reschedule will be made late Friday afternoon and updated information will be posted on the RBMS website.

Have a safe and enjoyable holiday!

Free concerts at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand

Listening to live music on a warm night is a summertime tradition. So why not catch a free concert at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand while you are here. Over 50 bands perform annually at the open-air venue which is located at the end of Rehoboth Avenue right by the boardwalk.

The Rehoboth Beach landmark, in its 51st season, has been providing free entertainment since 1963, and the 2014 line-up is no slouch. Exceptional acts range from local favorites to cover and tribute bands to military ensembles and orchestras. With such a diverse offering of styles and genres, you’ll have no trouble quenching your musical thirst.

The Bandstand also offers other family-friendly entertainment such as movies, variety acts, and other local, regional, and national performances on occasion.

The Rehoboth Bandstand kicks off its summer concert series on Friday, June 13 with local rock legends Love Seed Mama Jump. Concerts are held every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8:00-9:15 pm. Click here for the complete schedule.
