Paddle

While swimming, boogie boarding and body surfing in the ocean may be the first choice for water activities in Rehoboth Beach, don’t forget that there are plenty of fun things to do ON the water as well as IN the water.

What could be more relaxing than gliding along one of the many serene waterways that are found all over Sussex County, Delaware? Kayaking and canoeing are not only good forms of exercise but they are also a great way to get up close and personal with local wildlife and plant life. Whether you go single or tandem, all you really need is a desire to explore. We promise you’ll have no “egrets!”

What'SUP? Stand Up Paddleboarding, that’s what! Feeling a little more adventurous? Why not challenge yourself on a paddleboard. It’s the latest craze in fitness and another way to enjoy being on the water. Standing on the board requires some core strength, but once you get the hang of it, you won’t want to stop! For the gurus, some companies offer SUP Yoga. Yes, you read that correctly, yoga ATOP a floating surface! Salute the sun and get your zen on in a challenging and unique way.

Local water sport companies typically rent by the hour, the day or the week. They also offer instruction as well as various tours ranging from eco tours to sunset or full moon paddles.

Local companies that offer paddling adventures:
