Lupo di Mare may translate to "Wolf of the Sea" - a metaphor for a grizzled old sailor - but make no mistake, the charming restaurant in no way embodies its namesake. It's equal parts light, airy and cozy. Manager Mike Dickinson gives us the scoop on some amazing off-season dinner specials and fills us in on wine imported exclusively to the restaurant from Conti di San Bonifacio, an award winning Tuscan Vineyard.
Dinner specials run Sunday through Thursday with a different seafood featured monthly. April is Catfish Month featuring local blue catfish served piccata-style with spinach and angel hair pasta. Come in on Thursday for half-priced bottles of wine and pair your meal with one of the four varieties from Conti di San Bonifacio. For red lovers choose from Sangiovese, Syrah or a Cabernet Franc blend; if sparkling white is your thing, try the Prosecco. All produce is sourced locally and all desserts are created in-house. And if you are just looking to unwind with a glass of vino and a small bite, belly up to the quaint corner bar for happy hour which runs daily from 5-7pm.
But don't delay your visit to Lupo di Mare - these off-season specials end May 18. The restaurant is open daily at 5pm.
